General Terms and Conditions

This document covers your sales, transport rules, and liability. It is automatically agreed by the clients making a reservation with Bordeaux Insider.

1. Company Information

These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Bordeaux Insider, a company registered in France under number 840 077 473 R.C.S Bordeaux, with its registered office at 109 Rue Mouneyra, 33000 Bordeaux, hereinafter referred to as the “Company”.

The Company operates a website accessible at contact@bordeauxinsider.com, offering chauffeur-driven transport (VTC) and wine tourism services.

2. Scope of Application

These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings and services provided by the Company to any individual or legal entity (the “Client”).

By making a reservation, the Client acknowledges having read, understood, and accepted these Terms without reservation.

3. Legal Framework – VTC Regulation

The transport services provided are subject to French regulations governing VTC (Véhicule de Transport avec Chauffeur), including but not limited to:

  • Articles L.3122-1 to L.3122-11 of the French Transport Code

  • Decree n°2014-1725 of 30 December 2014

  • Obligation of prior booking

  • Licensed professional chauffeurs

  • Vehicles compliant with VTC standards

The Company operates exclusively within this legal framework and does not provide taxi services.

4. Services Offered

The Company, Bordeaux Insider, provides private day/multi-day tours, and excursions in France.

  • Private chauffeur-driven transport (VTC)

  • Assistance to design Wine tourism tours (vineyard visits and tastings fees are not included)

  • Custom-made private or corporate transport services

  • All services are provided exclusively by professional, licensed chauffeurs.

5. Prices and Rates

  • Prices are expressed in Euros (€), including all applicable taxes (VAT).

  • Rates depend on distance, duration, type of vehicle, waiting time, and optional services.

  • Prices are fixed at the time of booking once payment is confirmed.

Additional charges may apply in case of:

  • Client delay

  • Route modification

  • Extra waiting time

  • Tolls, parking fees, or additional stops

6. Booking

Bookings may be made online or by direct contact.

Booking is mandatory: In accordance with French VTC law (Article L.3122-9 Code des Transports), transport can only be performed upon prior reservation.

A reservation is considered firm only after Bordeaux Insider issues a booking confirmation via email or SMS and once payment of a 25% deposit has been received.

The Client is responsible for providing accurate booking information.

7. Payment Terms

  • Payment is made online using secure payment methods (credit card, Amex, bank transfer or approved digital payment solutions).

  • Full payment may be required prior to service.

  • Any unpaid booking may be cancelled without notice.

8. Cancellation Policy

Client Cancellation

  • Free cancellation up to 8 days before the service.

  • Less than 8 days or No-show: no refund.

Company Cancellation

The Company may cancel in cases of force majeure, safety issues, or exceptional circumstances.
In such cases, the Client will receive a full refund or an alternative solution.

9. Service Conditions

  • The chauffeur will arrive at the agreed time and location.

  • Client delays may result in additional charges.

  • The chauffeur may refuse transport if passenger safety is compromised or if legal regulations are violated.

  • Any damage caused inside the vehicle will be charged. Smoking in the vehicles is strictly prohibited. Seat belts must be fastened at all times.

  • In case of any modification asked by the client, the chauffeur may charge additional costs, charged to the requesting party.

10. Tasting Fees & Alcohol Consumption Policy

1. Tasting Fees: Please note that wine tasting fees are not included in the tour price. These fees must be settled directly by the guest at each visited estate. Bordeaux Insider acts solely as a reservation agent for these appointments and receives no commission on wine sales or tasting fees.

2. Responsible Drinking: While we facilitate the booking of these experiences, all guests are encouraged to drink responsibly. Bordeaux Insider and its drivers reserve the right to refuse service or terminate the tour without refund if a guest's behavior becomes unsafe or disruptive due to excessive alcohol consumption.

3. Liability: Bordeaux Insider shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the consumption of alcohol or services provided by third-party wine estates. By booking this tour, guests acknowledge that they are responsible for their own consumption and well-being during the tastings.

10. Insurance and Liability

Bordeaux Insider holds a professional civil insurance policy covering transported passengers "for a fee" (Assurance Responsabilité Civile Professionnelle Transport de Personnes à Titre Onéreux par ASSURANCE MFA BORDEAUX).

The Company’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the service.

The Company shall not be held responsible for:

  • Delays caused by traffic or external conditions

  • Loss or damage of personal belongings

  • Acts beyond its control

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the website (texts, images, logos, graphics, videos) is the exclusive property of the Company and is protected under:

  • French Intellectual Property Code (Articles L.111-1 et seq.)

Any reproduction, distribution, or use without prior written authorization is strictly prohibited.

12. Personal Data & GDPR

Personal data collected is processed in compliance with:

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR)

  • French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés)

Data is used strictly for:

Managing your reservations and payments.

Sending booking confirmations and invoices.

Legal compliance (VTC "billet de réservation" requirements).

Clients have the right to access, rectify, erase, and oppose data processing by contacting contact@bordeauxinsider.com

13. Cookies Policy

The website uses cookies to:

  • Ensure proper site functionality

  • Analyze traffic and performance

  • Improve user experience

Users may manage cookie preferences via their browser settings or the cookie consent banner.

14. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be held liable for failure to perform obligations due to force majeure events as defined by French law.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law.
Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.
